Wilsonville Spokesman: A cymbal-ic moment for Wilsonville resident

For more than 60 years, Wilsonville resident Frank Walsh wanted to play the cymbals. And this month, the 94-year-old former teacher’s wish came true. The Vital Life Foundation — a charitable arm of the Consonus Healthcare and the Marquis Companies where Walsh lives — has a New Chapters program that allows seniors to accomplish their dreams and participate in activities that make them happier, healthier and more engaged in the community.

Les Aigner’s trip to the United States Holocaust Museum proved to be even more meaningful than he could have imagined. Aigner and his wife Eva, who is also a survivor, traveled from Oregon for the “Journey of Heroes” put on by the Vital Life Foundation and the Wish of a Lifetime program.

KPTV: Holocaust survivors join Portland-area veterans on special trip to Washington, D.C.

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – A group of fifteen Portland-area senior citizens hopped on a commercial airliner for a trip of a lifetime Monday morning. The senior group, composed of thirteen military veterans, is heading to Washington, D.C. for the “Journey of Heroes.” This is the 8th year of the trip, which is organized and funded by the Vital Life Foundation and Wish of a Lifetime, two non-profits.
